USA Triathlon visits Landau Law Shop in Herndon

Why would representatives from the USAT National Headquarters in Colorado Springs come to the Landau Law Shop in Herndon, Virginia?
.
In addition to racing at the highest levels, Doug Landau also donates to the USA Triathlon Foundation: the charitable wing of the sport’s organization.
.
Landau gets to see multi-sport competitions from all angles, being race volunteer and sponsor of the Virginia and Maryland Triathlon Series. His role as a volunteer for the USAT Legal Committee allows him to provide free legal advice to race directors and others involved in the multi-sport world. In addition, Lawyer Landau gets to see what happens to injured athletes when they cannot participate. Landau had even represented the CEO of USA Triathlon after he was struck by a taxi cab as he was finishing a training right close to his Arlington home!

Several times this year, USAT has visited the Landau Law Shop. Shown in the photo below on the front porch: USAT Top Ranked Athletes Tom Stroup and Dave Conover, who have completed a number of times at the ITU world championships, USAT Senior Director of Development Jordan Bailey, and Lawyer Landau. Stroup and Conover are perennially at the top of their Age Group divisions.  Conover is also a senior USAT Race Official, who’s often seen in his stripped uniform monitoring athletes before, during, and after the races for safety and other infractions. Stroup and Landau were roommates at the US National Championships in Omaha, Nebraska,=. The 3 Grandmasters athletes also competed at Colonial Beach, Virginia in July on their Saturday Sprint race and then formed a Triathlon Relay Team to compete Sunday, where they garnered another podium spot, even though their combined ages were over 200 years! Next year they hope to be sponsored by Medicare!
