Meet the Team

Beatriz Vargas

Senior Legal Assistant & Spanish Interpreter

Beatriz has been at Abrams Landau since August 2004. She enjoys traveling, hiking, the outdoors and spending time with her husband, two children and their dog Kilo.

Favorite aspect of working at Abrams Landau: “I take great pleasure in working with our clients and their families to help them get medical treatments to get back to work, to their life and mainly to get the benefits they deserve, even if they reside outside of the U.S.”

Lisa Goldman

Legal Assistant & Intake Specialist

Lisa has been with the firm since October 2017. She enjoys exercise of all types, but cycling is her favorite and she has completed numerous century rides with her husband. She is also a calligrapher and enjoys taking side jobs for weddings, bar mitzvahs and other special events.

Favorite aspect of working at Abrams Landau: “I learn something new every day because my position is very fluid and I cover many different responsibilities; so, no two days look the same.”

Rachel Hirsch

Paralegal

Originally from Florida, Rachel has been working at Abrams Landau since September 2018. She loves music, going to concerts and spending time with her two dogs. She plays competitive tennis, but is mostly a homebody, unless it’s for a concert!

Favorite aspect of working at Abrams Landau: “I love helping our clients and I love my co-workers.”

Kristin Tanzi

Lead Negligence Paralegal

Kristin has been with the firm since 2010 and currently works remotely in San Diego. Some of her hobbies include horseback riding, reading a great book, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.

Favorite aspect of working at Abrams Landau: “We are all about the outcome for the client. Whether the case is large or small, we want the client to be extremely satisfied with the efforts put forth by this firm on their behalf, as well as the overall financial outcome of the case. We are here to help the people who need us most.”

Melissa Landau

Bookkeeper

Melissa has been the bookkeeper for over 20 years and is also a full-time Realtor licensed in VA, MD and DC. She can often be found running in the sun or on a bike, sometime even racing behind her husband and our boss “Mr. Landau.”

Favorite aspect of working at Abrams Landau: “I enjoy speaking to potential clients, especially when I am able to tell them that I think we can help them. We can’t make people whole again, but providing hope, support and then funds to cover medical expenses and compensate for loss is truly satisfying work.”

Andrew Baroody

Education Director

Andrew is the newest addition to our team, coming onboard in September 2021 to help with education and marketing efforts. Previously he was a middle school Spanish teacher, and also lived in Mexico for 6 years after college (his Spanish is certainly better than Mr. Landau’s!). He loves all sports, but these days likes to spend free time playing golf, tennis, or reading (he is a big-time Tolkien nut!).

What he’s looking forward to at Abrams Landau: “I grew up here in Herndon, so I’m excited for the chance to get to know my town on a deeper level. I’m also looking forward to the opportunity to use my Spanish language background to help non-English-speakers in the community find legal solutions that might otherwise be hard to find.”
