Running Coach stiffed by trainee sues in Circuit Court to get his money

While waiting to argue Motions in a car crash case, I observed the proceedings in a lawsuit where a coach was suing his trainee for $15,000. It seems that the coach had helped a woman train for and complete several marathons. However, she allegedly did not pay him the money owed. The Arlington County Circuit Court judge wanted to see some documentation that supported the stiffed coach’s position. While I did not get to see the trial, it was one of the more interesting cases for a “TriathlonTrialLawyer,” and it reiterates the importance of getting contracts and agreements in writing. These people would not have been in court had they sought my friend Nicolas Jafarieh’s assistance and his ingenious “SportsLegalForms” web site.
