Virginia Bike Accident Lawyer Landau to speak at Fairfax Bike Summit

Mark your calendars for Sunday, November 2, 2013!

That is the date of this year’s Fairfax Bike Summit, to be held on the grounds of George Mason University.  The summit is staged by Fairfax Advocates for Better Bicycling (FABB), in partnership with George Mason University, Fairfax County, and the City of Fairfax.   Its goal is to discuss the role of bicycling in the transformation of Tysons into a livable, walkable, and sustainable community.

The increasing popularity of biking for commuting, recreation and sport will require education and advocacy to prevent needless injury and loss from Northern Virginia and DC Metro drivers.

Herndon injury lawyer and safe cycling advocate, Doug Landau, will share the podium with other noted cycling advocates at the summit.  Doug’s career as a champion for victims injured due to no fault of their own, combined with his own love of cycling, make him the perfect candidate to speak about safe cycling.  He will also be discussing his free helmet distribution and brain injury prevention program “putting lids on the kids” as well as his book, “Ten Mistakes That Can Derail Your Bicycle Injury Case”, copies of which are available for free download on the column on the right of this page.

“I am honored to have been asked to speak and look forward to participating in such a worthwhile event,” notes Doug.  “Working towards increasing cycling in our community is good on so many levels.  But my concern is always about safe cycling.  Accidents do happen, but I hope with increased awareness, we can lessen the number of incidents, and the number of fatalities and serious injury.

If you or someone you know has been injured while riding a bike and there are questions as to what laws apply, email or call Abrams Landau, Ltd. at once (703-796-9555).  Who better to call than an attorney who is also a bike rider!
