Doug Landau races at New Jersey JCC on Mothers Day

DKWL___JCC_finish_5.10.09.jpegThe Kaplen Jewish Community Center on the Palisades held its 28th Annual Rubin Run, an event dedicated to promoting healthy lifestyles and family unity, on Mother’s Day, at the JCC in Tenafly. The Virginia injury lawyer was 12th out of over 200 finishers after initially leading the field. Landau noted, “I knew that 7 minute miles would not break the top 10, but I just did not have the gas today, despite perfect weather and race conditions.” The joyous and lively celebration was a showcase for the Rubin Run’s mission to actively enhance the lives of all those who pass through its door from elderly people whose age may present challenges to kids and teens looking for a place to practice sports and nurture their artistic skills.

Just as Landau’s date book for court hearings, trials, speeches and presentations is always “open,” his race calendar is also available so that disabled clients and their families can meet with him closer to where they live and see him “in action.” Always call beforehand, as some cases settle or are continued by the judge, and some races are postponed due to inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances. In addition to future trips to Richmond, VA, Lakeville, CT, New York City, Jacksonville and Miami, FL and Flemington, NJ, Landau’s future races include:

June 21, 2009: ITU Sprint Triathlon, Washington, D.C.
June 28, 2009: Lake Montclair (Prince William County) Triathlon, Virginia
July 26, 2009: San Francisco Half Marathon 5km, California
September 13, 2009: Nations Olympic Distance Triathlon, Washington, D.C.
September 26, 2009: Smith Mountain Lake, Virginia Triathlon Series
