Herndon trial lawyer Doug Landau invited to Orientation Program for New Judges by the Supreme Court of Virginia
Once again I have been asked to help with the New Judges Orientation by the Virginia Supreme Court. The mock trials presented to the “judges in training” are helpful in getting the new jurists ready for their jobs on the bench. I will be in Richmond for these Mock Trials the afternoon of Thursday, April 30, 2009. At ABRAMS LANDAU, we invite our clients to “see us in action.” We have also supplied witnesses and plaintiffs for these mock trials. So, if you are in Richmond and would like to participate, please let me know.
The Pre-Bench Orientation Program, includes mock trials and other training for our new circuit and general district court judges. The mock trials I have done for the new judges have been primarily personal injury and premises liability cases. A sitting Circuit Court judge observes the proceedings and conducts a post critique of the new judge as part of the training. The Virginia State Bar has, in the past, approved this for CLE (“Continuing Legal Education”) credits. If you are interested in participating but prefer not to take one of the lawyer roles, please consider volunteering to be a witness. Hope to see you at a Richmond Circuit Court in April !
