Multiple Prizes at Richmond Rox Race
Just as Virginia injury lawyer Doug Landau likes to win clients’ car crash, workers compensation AND Social Security Disability claims on the same set of medical evidence, he enjoys winning his age group, the Masters category AND overall or other awards at races around the country. Last weekend, Herndon Virginia’s “Triathlon Trial Lawyer” bested most of the field at the Richmond Rox 10km. road race. Despite carrying a cave man club, holding his pants up with a bone and being dressed as “Bam Bam Flinstone,” Landau was in 2nd place for the first half of the race.
Over 400 runners ran from the Richmond Convention Center, past the Supreme Court of Virginia, and down past the War Memorial to Bell Island, Canal Walk and the South Side of the James River. While struggling to train for a run of more than a few miles in the recent spate of bad weather, Landau gamely held on to 6th place overall to finish as one of the top masters and runner up in his age group. Despite signing up at the last minute (hence this event not being on the newsletter or Internet calendar) in order to help several friends who were registered for the longer half marathon race, the top Herndon personal injury and workers comp lawyer also won the costume category with fellow HPC trainee and triathlete Cris “Pebbles” Howard. At the Awards ceremony in the Richmond Convention Center, Landau cleaned up, with photos of the winning “Best Outfit” on the races’ FaceBook page. After the race, lawyer Landau took a much deserved nap in his “man cave !” The winning plaque is displayed at the Green Lizard Bicycle Shop in Downtown Herndon, conveniently located between the 19.5 and 20 mile markers of the W&OD Trail.
