Finding a Place to Train while Travelling
Finding a “Place” on the Road:
Gyms at Airports (if you have a long layover) https://www.airportgyms.com/
IHRSA (International Health Club Site – Finds clubs by zip code, facilities, price !) https://www.vicinity.com/ihrsa/startprx.hm
USMS www.usms.org (United States Masters Swimming) Not only can you find a pool, but even make a connection with a Masters Swim Team in order to “drop in” to a practice !
Sport & Health Clubs www.sportandhealth.com You can generally get a free visit, and there are clubs on the road down to Richmond, in D.C., and up in Maryland.
Local Universities. The TraithlonTrialLawyer Doug Landau has contacted Universities and Colleges in cities he has visited in order to find excellent workout, swimming and running facilities. If you go to Boston, check out the M.I.T. pool (one of the 5 best indoor pools in the country) and Harvard University running track (curtains, banked turns and inclines); if you go to Fort Lauderdale, check out the United States Swimming Hall of Fame outdoor) Pool; and, if you’re on the West Coast, the Santa Monica College (outdoor) Pools are wonderful, inexpensive and huge.
