Tractor trailor strikes 16-year-old girl; Driver convicted of manslaughter; jury verdict despite Defendant’s frivolous defenses

An Albemarle Couty jury rendered a verdict of $5,250,000 plus $450,000 in interest for a family of a teenager killed in a tractor trailer crash. The verdict was for the family of the 16 year old girl who suffered fatal injuries on Route 29 North in May of 2008 according to the Daily Progress newspaper.…
