For those clients of the Herndon law firm ABRAMS LANDAU, Ltd. who have won their Social Security Disability cases, there will be a small increase in their checks next year, according to the reports coming out of the Federal Government.

Last year there was no increase to the monthly checks.

According to news reports, the small increase in Social Security next year — which equals an extra $2 for someone getting a $1,000 monthly check — would come after retirees got no increase in Social Security benefits in 2016 for the third time in four decades.

The final COLA figure is typically not determined until the fall.

Disability lawyer Doug Landau hopes this trend will continue, as his clients receiving Social Security Disability Income (SSDI) benefits need every dollar of the money that was taken out of their paychecks while they were healthy enough to work.

If you or someone you know is disabled and unable to work and there are questions as to what laws apply, email or call Abrams Landau, Ltd. at once (703-796-9555).
