Abrams Landau: Featured on the 2023 Summer Issue of “Trial Reporter”
“Trial Reporter” is a legal publication that offers comprehensive coverage, analysis, and summaries of important court cases, trials, and legal developments. It is a valuable resource for legal professionals such as attorneys, judges, and legal researchers who must keep up with significant legal decisions, precedents, and trends.
Being featured in a publication like the “Trial Reporter” often recognizes an attorney’s or firm’s expertise and accomplishments in the legal field. It acknowledges their contributions to the practice of law, their knowledge, and their ability to navigate complex legal issues. Prior to the COVID pandemic, Herndon injury lawyer Doug Landau would only write for peer-reviewed journals and only teach for non-profit groups and trial lawyer associations.
This Summer, Abrams Landau was included in the “2023 Trial Reporter Journal of the Maryland Association for Justice.” Click here to read the 2023 Summer Issue.
As seen from the Table of Contents, Doug Landau’s piece is the featured article, on pages 5-9 in the magazine. While he is not a member of the Maryland Association for Justice (MAJ), Lawyer Landau has taught on the group’s Continuing Legal Education programs in the past. Airline Attorney Landau was highlighted in this publication with his article “Flight Risk: Airport & Airline Liabilities”
Most attorneys never get published in a peer-reviewed journal. Usually, Landau is invited to write on a particular topic months before the intended publication date. That invitation, however, does not guarantee publication. The peer review process means that articles are written by editors and experts. After, they get reviewed by several other experts in the field before the article is published in the journal in order to ensure the article’s quality. Landau has reviewed articles for peer-reviewed publications, and until only recently, had never approved a submission for publication! In many cases, the article reviewers do not know the names of the author(s) of the article, so the article succeeds or fails on its own merit, not the reputation of the expert.
Landau has had articles published in TRIAL magazine (The National Trial Lawyer’s Magazine); the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association Journal (VTLA); the Journal of the Trial Lawyers Association of the District of Columbia (TLA-DC); the Virginia State Bar Journal (VSB), and others. Inclusion in such a publication displays credibility and reputation within the legal community. It serves as an endorsement by the publication, indicating that the attorney or firm is noteworthy.
Many legal publications include articles or interviews that allow featured individuals to share their insights, experiences, and legal knowledge with a broader audience. Doug Landau hopes this publication can contribute to educating readers about the laws that apply in airports and aircraft.
