Because Doug Landau believes so strongly in continuing education, staff go to several off site, LIVE Continuing Legal Education programs each year, so they can learn from the judges, doctors and experts in their fields. In addition to speaking on the National programs for the American Association for Justice (formally the Association of Trial of America), he has taught continuing education programs for the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association, the Maryland Association, for Justice, the Trial lawyers Association of Metropolitan Washington, DC, the Kansas & Missouri Trial Lawyers Associations, the Virginia State Bar, and Virginia Workers’ Compensation Commission. Lawyers from throughout the country get required legal credits for attending Landau’s presentations. In addition, he has published a number of articles in peer-reviewed journals, which do not accept every single submission. Landau doesn’t teach or write for any “for profit” legal organizations, and while people pay good money to attend his presentations and webinars, he does not charge these “not for profit” groups any honorary or appearance fees.

Abrams Landau does not take this achievement lightly! Doug remembers when his late father, Norman J. Landau, was recognized as one of the Best Layers in America in one of the first publications of that book. Norman Landau was regarded internationally alone of the best lawyers anywhere, and was posthumously placed in the American Trial Lawyers Hall of Fame in Washington, D.C.  Doug Landau knows full well that to be recognized by one’s peer is no small feat.
