Sprint Triathlon Chestnut Forks

Registration is now open for the 2015 Chestnut Forks Sprint Triathlon, to be held in Warrenton, Virginia. Since its inaugural grass roots event, this has grown to become an amazing annual event with wonderful sponsors and volunteers. Just West of the Fairfax line, this Warrenton area event is ideal for folks looking for a small race with friendly volunteers and a scenic bike course. Shown below are last year’s overall male & female winners and race director.
Starting with a pool swim, there are even showers for after the competition so you do not have to drive home in your smelly, wet race clothes !
Lawyer Landau’s best triathlon event may be his transitions between the three events. He often passes faster bikers and swimmers in T-1 and T-2.
After finishing as runner up in 2013 to his friend and accomplished Arlington multi-sport athlete Jose Ramos, lawyer Landau won this race in 2014.
This year’s triathlon benefits the Fauquier SPCA (Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals). The Fauquier SPCA is a private, 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to providing a temporary refuge for stray, homeless and abandoned animals and to place such animal in a caring, appropriate home whenever possible. Educating the public about the benefits of spaying and neutering is also an extremely important part of its mission.
