Product Recall — Yuba Mundo V4 Cargo Bikes

April 10, 2013
Abrams Landau Injury Law

Herndon athletes attorney Doug Landau urges people who have purchased these bikes to stop using them and contact the manufacturer to have free wheel covers installed at no cost.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has issued a recall of approximately 1,000 cargo bikes manufactured by Yuba Bicycles. The 26-inch bicycles have steel frames, aluminum fenders on the front and rear wheels, and a wood utility deck mounted on the rear cargo rack. The bikes come in orange, black or blue. The word “Mundo” is on the top tube of the bicycle frame and “Yuba” is on the down tube. The serial number range for the recalled bikes is ADA11A008000 to ACA12D018000. The serial number is located on the kickstand plate. The problem with the bikes is that passengers’ feet can get caught in the rear wheel, causing foot injury.  There have been two reported injuries. If you have purchased one of these bikes, stop using it and contact Yuba immediately.  If you have experienced an injury while using one of the bikes, you should report it to the CPSC at SaferProducts.gov. Here is the contact information for Yuba Bicycles:
