Pedestrian settles dog attack lawsuit for $1 million

to the maximum extent allowed by their states unique dog bite and personal injury laws.

The victim of the dog’s attack suffered several facial injuries. The 90-pound American bulldog bit the woman’s face as she walked her own dog to pick up her kids. The target of the dog attack spent four days in the hospital. She has had three surgeries to minimize scars on her nose, cheek and lips.

Virginia injury lawyer Doug Landau notes that in addition to the CIVIL claims, there was a CRIMINAL case. The bulldog’s owner was charged with misdemeanors. The dog owner was sentenced to four months in jail. The animal that attacked and bit the female pedestrian was killed by animal control officials. Sonoma County, California adopted tougher animal control measures after the canine attack on this plaintiff and others.
