Bicycle safety – Important Product Recall

Abrams Landau Injury Law
Herndon attorney Doug Landau, of Abrams Landau Ltd., is an avid cyclist.  As such, Doug enjoys reading up on the latest biking news.  Recently, Doug came across a feature on folding bikes.  While a folding frame may offer its owner convenience, only cycles meant to fold should collapse easily.  Recent reports of bike frames that break down and may cause injury to athletes, commuters, and recreational bikers has the Herndon Virginia biker and lawyer concerned.
“While I have not seen any injury caused by bike frame defects during my Reston Bike Club rides, there are other riders on the roads, paths and trails who could potentially cause permanent injury if they crash into a Fairfax group training ride or Loudoun County bike tour,” says Doug.  “Reliable bikes and equipment are critical.”
A Recent recall by the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) of Specialized Bike Components on all models of the 2012 Tarmac SL4, 2013 Tarmac SL4, 2013 Crux and 2013 Secteur Disc highlights how important it is for riders to check the safety of their equipment.  If you own one of the affected bikes, you must stop using it and bring it to an authorized dealer for a free inspection and repair (if needed).
If you or someone you know has been injured as a result of faulty bicycle or other equipment and there are questions as to what laws apply, email or call Abrams Landau, Ltd. at once (703-796-9555).
