All smiles at Tri It Now triathlon at George Mason University Manassas Campus/Freedom Fitness Center

Retired Navy commander Jim Norman was all smiles at his first multi sport event. Norman completed the run bike run Duathlon, and promised to do another event, as he had so much fun. Doug Landau is wearing his volunteer vest, sporting his directional flag, and wearing his high visibility fluorescent “Triathlon Trial Lawyer” shirt backwards, because he got up so early in order to assist at this try it now race.

Unlike most multisport races, which have long racks with hundreds of bicycles, which make it very difficult for some to find their bike in the heat of a race, Tri It Now only had two bikes per bicycle stand, with plenty of space between the pairs. Swimmers coming out of the swimming pool had no problem finding their transition area. Those participating in the Duathlon could easily run in and hop on their bikes. Relay team members could easily see each other for the hand off. The wonderful folks at Tri It Now have figured out how to put on these fun races for new triathletes, duathletes and other multisport enthusiasts.
