The Freedom FItness Center at the GMU Prince William County Campus in Manassas has a fantastic indoor pool complex and state of the art facilities. It is an ideal venue for the multisport events put on by “TriItNow”. Doug Landau is shown here taking his nieces & nephew to this nearby indoor water park<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Running in the pool, as is Doug Landau’s practice on Mondays after races in order to “recover” and loosen up for another hard week of training, he was asked about multisport events for those who find long distance running difficult. Ever the optimist, lawyer Landau replied, “Sure ! There are lots of events for those looking for fun ways to expand their fitness horizons here in the Commonwealth.” Here are some suggestions:<\/p>\n

The Virginia Triathlon Series<\/a> has AquaVelo events, including the Colonial Beach event July 13th,\u00a0which the Landaus will take part in after racing in the Sprint Triathlon the day before! \u00a0Injury and Disability lawyer Landau also hopes to participate in the Williamsburg area “Grand Fondo”<\/a> bike ride June 8th, after completing the Jamestown Olympic Triathlon the day before.<\/p>\n

The wonderful folks at “TriItNow” have beginners’ events in nearby Manassas. The Prince William County campus of George Mason University is an excellent venue for weekend multisport events. You can even shower, enjoy the hot tub and not go home sweaty and cold. Ina Nenninger is an experienced coach, race director and triathlon enthusiast. There are several events this summer that do not require any running ! Check out their\u00a0Summer Super Sprint Triathlons at The Freedom Aquatic & Fitness Center, Manassas, Virginia at the George Mason University. For details, go to the TriItNow web site<\/a>.<\/p>\n

As a third option, the Richmond MultiSports group<\/a>, lead by the wonderful and talented Laurie Mehler, has several AquaVelo events in addition to their extremely popular Triathlons.
