Though not part of his run training, Herndon injury attorney Doug Landau has been spotted walking his NYC family’s dog “Disco,” who is also challenged when it comes to pacing !<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

For the 2nd week in a row, Herndon Virginia triathlete Doug Landau ran identical splits. This is remarkable because, when tested on treadmills in sports injury labs, the Triathlon Trial Lawyer’s heart rate and perceived exertion levels would remain the same at paces from 6:30-7:20\/mile. In other words, at a fairly quick running pace, this Northern Virginia multisport athlete could not tell sports performance experts how fast he was going ! It all felt the same !<\/p>\n

In his first 10km. of 2014, Landau recorded splits of 14:30 for 2 miles, 29:00 for 4 miles and 43:31 for 6 miles ! Using this New York Road Runners Club (“NYRRC”)\u00a0<\/a>event as a training run, the Reston-area road runner ran a safe race on the rolling, foggy, raining and sometimes icy course through New York City’s Central Park. One trick he uses to keep his feet warm and dry is to put plastic newspaper bags over his socks, but under his tights. Landau has found that as long as his feet stay relatively dry, he can compete (and train) in rain, snow and sloppy conditions. A former NYRRC member, Landau toed the line with more than 4,700 runners Saturday near the east side of the 102nd Street Transverse. Lawyer Landau finished 431st in a tick under 45 minutes. The race donated $1 from every entry fee to a scholarship fund for youth runners.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
