“Plastic Bulldog” Brett Landau of the Dwight-Englewood School with his father, Ken and uncle, Doug, at Sunday’s Ultimate Frisbee Tournament in Warren, New Jersey<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Ultimate frisbee is a sport near and dear to lawyer Landau’s heart, even though he never competed, or even played, this game. Any sports that allows participants to wear brightly colored garment and unique outfits, resonates with the triathlon trial lawyer.<\/p>\n

Lawyer Landau was recently able to take in an ultimate Frisbee tournament in Warren, New Jersey en route back to Virginia from client meetings up North. Landau’s nephew, Brett is playing for the Dwight Englewood School (“DES”) \u00a0Plastic Bulldogs. Brett’s older brother Avery had been a four-year starter and Captain, before matriculating to Syracuse University this fall. Landau’s brother, who graduated from DES, is a member of the Board and played ultimate at Colgate University, was in attendance taking pictures of the action. While the Landaus mother (school librarian) and sister also spent many years at Dwight, neither played Ultimate Frisbee.<\/p>\n

While Landau had enjoyed watching ultimate Frisbee matches at the Hotchkiss school in Connecticut, he had not seen a match several years. “This is a great sport, as it combines running, throwing, hand to eye coordination, and teamwork,” noted Landau. Plus the sport is coed, and size is not always an advantage. Large opponents may not have an advantage if that adversary is not sure which way to go. Hoping to catch future ultimate matches, Landau noted that this is a fun for spectators and players alike, as you can follow the disc more easily than a hockey puck or 100 mph fastball. Ultimate frisbee is also a limited contact sport that avoids unnecessary head injury, but nevertheless gives participants a great workout.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
