Even expensive bicycles costing many thousands of dollars can have post production problems.\u00a0 Herndon bike injury lawyer Doug Landau lauds bicycle makers who recognize problems in products that they have supplied and then do the right thing by recalling them\u00a0 “Placing products into the stream of commerce that turn out to be dangerous can cause permanent injury and death if not rectified quickly,” notes the Herndon cycling injury lawyer. About 200 Giant brand bicycles have been recalled due to a fall hazard from a seat post that can crack.<\/p>\n

This recall includes 2013 model year Giant XtC Advanced SL 29er 0 and 29er 1 series bicycles and 27.2 mm carbon fiber seatposts sold separately. The SL 29er 0 model bicycle is white, black and blue.\u00a0 The SL 29er 1 model is white, black and red. The letters “XTC” appear on the down tube of the frame on both bicycles.\u00a0 The name “Giant” and “Contact SLR” appear on the 27.2 mm carbon fiber seatposts.<\/p>\n

The affected products were sold in bicycle stores nationwide between November 2012 and May 2013 for between $4,300 and $7,700 for the bicycles and $200 for the seatpost sold separately.<\/p>\n

Consumers should contact Giant Bicycle Inc., toll-free at (866) 458-2555 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. PT Monday through Friday or online at\u00a0https:\/\/www.giant-bicycles.com\/en-us\/<\/a> and click on Recall Information at the bottom of the page for more information.<\/p>\n
