Herndon bike accident attorney Doug Landau distributes helmets to students at Guilford Elementary School in Sterling, at its first Bike Rodeo and Safety Day.\u00a0 The Abrams Landau team also distributed Helmet Pledges to children and their parents.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The first ever Guilford Elementary School<\/a> Bicycle Rodeo and Safety Day was an enormous success!<\/p>\n

Thank you to PE Director Mark Pankau and Principals David Stewart and Lottie Spurlock for sharing the event with Abrams Landau, Ltd<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Herndon bike accident lawyer Doug Landau, his wife Melissa, and daughters Danielle and Nicole attended the event at the Sterling, VA school where they distributed over 100 helmets to children ages 5-11 who otherwise could not afford one.\u00a0 Abrams Landau’s “Helmet a Day”<\/a> goal has doubled this year because of the great reception the program has received.<\/p>\n

New for Guilford’s Bike Rodeo, Abrams Landau presented a safety contract to each parent and child when the child was given his or her helmet. \u00a0Some of the children made a verbal pledge, which included surrendering their bike if they choose to ride without their new helmet.<\/p>\n

Local girl scouts assisted by\u00a0Pat Turner, founder and co-chair of \u00a0Bike Loudoun<\/a>, \u00a0helped the Abrams Landau team distribute “ride safe” bags with information and goodies provided by the cycle group.<\/p>\n

This event was truly special, because parents attended with their children, making it even more certain that Lawyer Landau’s message would make it home. Helmets save lives, but only when worn; if they sit on a shelf or a handlebar then they do no good.<\/p>\n

Parents, PLEASE insist your child wears a helmet, and wear one yourself as well. \u00a0Protect your own head and teach your child by example.<\/p>\n
