Brain aneurysm lawyer Doug Landau after the Susco 8k in Reston Virginia<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The 2nd Annual Brain Aneurysm Race for Awareness in Memory of Tim Susco was a success despite the cold, rain and overcast skies. Over 600 runners and walkers participated this year’s race despite the cold, rainy day. Proceeds will be divided among the Brain Aneurysm Foundation and the Washington Regional Transplant Community. The Brain Aneurysm Foundation was established as a public charity. The Foundation developed from a close relationship between patients and healthcare professionals who identified the need for comprehensive information and support for brain aneurysm patients, their families, and the medical community.<\/p>\n

Setting 3 goals for himself in light of the cold, rain and rolling course, TriathlonTrialLawyer Doug Landau simply wanted to: finish in the top 20; break 35 minutes; and, keep his heart rate within his anaerobic threshold. Lawyer Landau noted, “Setting goals for every race and every case is important. If you cannot measure it, you cannot manage it.’ Landau achieved all 3 pre-race goals, finishing 17th (and winning an age group award !) with a time of 34:40 and an average heart rat of 172 (resting pulse is usually 42). Landau and the ABRAMS LANDAU team have won cases for clients who have suffered brain damage from aneurysm. Clients lives have been saved by the Center for Cranial and Spinal Surgery and the adroit hands of Dr. Donald Hope. In one case, Dr. Hope testified that it is not unusual to see an aneurysm rupture and cause damage to the brain after straining, lifting or a “val salva” like maneuver.<\/p>\n

Brain Aneurysm Foundation’s MISSION:<\/p>\n

To provide support and educational materials to the medical community, the newly diagnosed, survivors, family members, friends and the general public regarding the facts, treatment options, and recovery process for brain aneurysms. With the help of the medical community, remain steadfast and earnest in the pursuit of brain aneurysm research that can directly benefit those affected.<\/p>\n

\u0095 Raising public awareness about brain aneurysms through the dissemination of educational literature geared to topics surrounding this medical condition.<\/p>\n

\u0095 Easing the recovery process for survivors and families through support groups, the website, and the Foundation’s continued presence.<\/p>\n

\u0095 Assisting medical professionals, health institutions, and other individuals to set up local chapters and support groups around the country.<\/p>\n

\u0095 Raising money for the Foundation to expand the educational library, coordinate symposiums, enhance support groups, and provide money for research.<\/p>\n
