Manassas Airport Runway race prize winner Doug Landau is all smiles after collecting his age group award<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

While used to running for a plane past crowded gates and long terminals, airport accident lawyer Doug Landau got a chance to sprint on the tarmac in Prince William County, Virginia.\u00a0 Rarely do non-Airport employees get to run ON the Air Operations Area (“AOA”).\u00a0 The Manassas Runway 10k\/5k Running races<\/a> were an excellent opportunity to test one’s early season foot speed as the course was flat, smooth, with minimal turns. Kent Barker and the Bristow Tri and Swim group<\/a> did another great job with a unique venue. This is definitely a fun race for the whole family.\u00a0 Because there are no trees out on the course, you can watch family members with binoculars nearly the entire time !<\/p>\n

The start was in front of Main Terminal on the Taxiway at the Manassas Airport. The weather was perfect for racing, pacing and spectating.\u00a0 No vehicular traffic meant safe striding on the wide runways of the Manassas Airport.\u00a0 Lawyer Landau was the 10th male finisher across the line, averaging 6:40\/mile, fast enough to win his age group.\u00a0 The charitable group that was the race beneficiary was the Rotary Club of Manassas, which works in partnership with Rotary International to address international issues including polio eradication, environmental degradation, illiteracy, world hunger, clean water and children at risk.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
