{"id":3836,"date":"2013-04-11T06:20:20","date_gmt":"2013-04-11T06:20:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/landauinjurylaw.com\/theathleteslawyer\/?p=3836"},"modified":"2013-04-11T06:20:20","modified_gmt":"2013-04-11T06:20:20","slug":"5k-to-raise-awareness-for-crime-victims","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/landauinjurylaw.com\/theathleteslawyer\/2013\/04\/11\/5k-to-raise-awareness-for-crime-victims\/","title":{"rendered":"5K to Raise Awareness for Crime Victims"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Fairfax County Police Department (FCPD) Victims&#8217; Services Unit and the Fairfax County Law Enforcement Foundation together are hosting the first ever <a title=\"FCPD Victims' Services Unit\" href=\"https:\/\/www.fairfaxcounty.gov\/police\/news-releases\/2013\/032113victimsservices.htm\" target=\"_blank\">5K Walk<\/a> dedicated to raising awareness for crime victims in Fairfax County, and honoring the 2013 National Crime Victims&#8217; Rights Week (April 21-27).\u00a0 The walk, which will take place on\u00a0Sunday, April 21 at 4:30 p.m. at Fairfax Corner, is a wonderful opportunity for the whole community to join the caring professionals that support local victims of homicide, trauma, sexual and domestic violence, child physical and sexual abuse, stalking human trafficking and suicide as they walk together.<\/p>\n<p>Herndon trial lawyer Doug Landau, of the firm <a title=\"landau lawshop website\" href=\"https:\/\/www.landaulawshop.com\" target=\"_blank\">Abrams Landau, Ltd<\/a>., is currently representing victims of several crimes including one who was shot and injured in a gas station robbery, a second sexually assaulted by an unlicensed doctor, and a third rendered unconscious by an impaired underage driver.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;Walking is great exercise, and walking for an important cause makes it doubly rewarding,&#8221; says Doug.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>You can register for the walk by visiting the <a title=\"Register for FCPD 5K Walk\" href=\"https:\/\/www.fairfaxcounty.gov\/survey\/crimevictimsrights.htm\" target=\"_blank\">FCPD website<\/a>.
