Virginia Triathlon Series (VTS) sponsor Doug Landau of the Herndon law firm ABRAMS LANDAU, once again wins his Age Group and also cops a Masters Award at the 2012 Warrenton Sprint Triathlon held today in Fauquier County, Virginia.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

In one of the last events of the Virginia Triathlon Series (“VTS”), Herndon bike safety lawyer Doug Landau again finished on the podium today despite an injured heel and no run training in over a fortnight.\u00a0 Ice, anti- inflammatories and elevation since first symptoms appeared after the Reston Triathlon (and acute pain at the Richmond 3-Sport Sprint) helped enable Landau to complete the 4th of the 5 events necessary to qualify for the VTS awards. Other competitions in the Virginia Series have completed in over a dozen events, so that they can count their best five in scoring.\u00a0 There are over two dozen events in the Virginia Triathlon Series <\/a>throughout the Commonwealth put on by Set Up Events.\u00a0 Landau’s last race will be the Virginia Triathlon Series finale, the Acorn Sprint October 7th, at Boxley Cove, in Bumpass, Virginia.\u00a0 The Herndon law firm Abrams Landau, Ltd. is a VTS sponsor and Landau has ben an age group Series division winner.<\/p>\n

The Warrenton Triathlon<\/a> is about an hour drive from Washington, DC. This VTS event is staged at the state of the art Warrenton Aquatic and Recreation Facility (“WARF”). The race began with a 300 yard swim inside the aquatic center. The bike course is 11 miles, rolling along 211 and ends with a few challenging hills. The race ends up with a hilly 2 loop 5K run around soccer fields adjacent to the aquatic center. Since the run is on the side of the hill behind WARF, it is spectator friendly.\u00a0 Landau swam well enough, but was passed by youth standout Armistead Legge, underwater !<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0 Trying to chase Arme on the bike, Landau battled winds and hills and was not passed once dry land. While limping through the run, Landau won the age group, was third in the Masters Division and 14th overall in a little over an hour.\u00a0 Not bad for a gimpy 52-year-old trial lawyer!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
