The end of the year is always a time for reflection, resolutions and thanks. With many top 10 and 20 finishes and several overall titles, 2011 was successful.<\/p>\n

Highlights include:<\/strong><\/p>\n

At the USAT Sprint Triathlon National Championships in Burlington, Vermont, qualified for the ITU World Championships, Auckland, New Zealand<\/p>\n

Overall winner: North Mountain Duathlon in West Virginia; Association for Justice 5km in New York City. Twice Winning Road Racing Team (“World Gators”) member. Age Group Champion at 7 races in 7 states ! Also Age Group Award Winner 10 times & Virginia Triathlon Series Age Group Runner up.<\/p>\n

Jan., 2011: Ran the 800 indoors at PGS&LC in 2:41<\/p>\n

Feb.: Tribute to the Military 5k Run & Fitness Walk<\/a> – Coral Gables, Florida, Age Group runner up, 23rd out of 714<\/p>\n

Mar.: DC Road Runners Club 10km Championship<\/a>, Fort Hunt, VA, 9th overall and 1st in the Age Group<\/p>\n

Dulles South Youth Sports 5km<\/a> in 19:04 for 10th overall out of 228, 2nd in the 45-54 Age Group !<\/p>\n

Apr.: Strasburg Duathlon<\/a> (Run 5k, Bike 30k, Run 5k), 6th overall, Age Group Champ<\/p>\n

May: Winchester VA Apple Blossom Festival 10km., repeat Age Group Runner Up, 41:38<\/p>\n

3 races in 36 hours:<\/em><\/p>\n

Friday evening the 20th, 5km barefoot on sand at Madeira Beach Florida 5km., 6th overall, 1st place over 50<\/p>\n

Saturday morning, Clearwater Marine Aquarium 5km., 6th overall, age group runner up in 19:55<\/p>\n

Sunday morning, Centreville VA “Fins, Wheels & Feet” Sprint Triathlon, 8th overall, over 50 winner<\/p>\n

Salute to the military Sprint Triathlon, Fauquier County VA, 5th overall out of 158, Age Group winner<\/p>\n

June: Tri-performance Sprint Triathlon, 4th overall, Age Group Winner<\/p>\n

DC Splash & Dash Duathlon at the Martin Luther King Aquatic Center, 3rd overall<\/p>\n

Forge 5km., NYC, overall winner (after racing the famous “Diamond in the Rough in the Rough Triathlon in Maryland)<\/p>\n

Virginia Triathlon Series (VTS) 3-Sports Sprint Triathlon, Richmond, VA, Age Group Winner<\/p>\n

VTS Culpeper Sprint Triathlon, 20th male, Age Group winner<\/p>\n

Aug.: VTS Goochland Sprint Triathlon, 4th Overall, Masters Champion<\/p>\n

(The next day averaged 20 mph and was Age Group Runner Up, 15th out of 333 racers at the Dog Days Sprint Triathlon riding my mountain bike !)<\/p>\n

Atlanta, Georgia 5km, 13th, Age Group winner (The next day, in another 5km in Georgia, 4th overall, 1st Place Master)<\/p>\n
