Rogue Fitness Barbell Brackets Recalled by Coulter Ventures Due to Injury Hazard

Many gyms I visit in my travels require the use of collars and brackets when lifting weights. These safety devices hold the weights and plates safely in place. I have personally seen several instances of weights improperly secured fall and cause injury. According to newswire report, “the Consumer Product Safety Commission has announced a recall of 5,500 Rogue Fitness Barbell Brackets, sold exclusively at the Rogue Fitness website. The weld between the bracket and the pin that holds the barbell bracket in place on a weightlifting rack can break, causing the weights to fall. The company has received one report of a user injuring their wrist when the weld broke.”

Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed. It is illegal to resell or attempt to resell a recalled consumer product. Sports injury lawyer Doug Landau of the Herndon Virginia law firm ABRAMS LANDAU, Ltd. says, “Don’t even think about re-selling a defective recalled piece of sprots equipment on e-bay or elsewhere.” The athletic products in question were sold exclusively at Rogue Fitness’ website from March 2009 through December 2010 for about $40. These strength training products were also sold as part of weightlifting racks and stands for between $350 and $3,400.

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled barbell brackets and contact Coulter to receive free replacement brackets.
