Supporting the Noble Work of Northern Virginia Family Services

In order to support the work of the Northern Virginia Family Services (NVFS), Melissa and Doug Landau participated in their annual charity fundraiser this past weekend. The fundraiser helped provide funds for families who need housing assistance, educational support, job training, English language skills and medical care in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area.

This year’s gala and auction also honored Dr. William Hazel who for many years practiced across the street from the Landau’s home in Franklin Farms, Virginia. Dr. Havel served two terms as Virginia Secretary of Health and Human Resources. You can read more about this honor and his career here.

The Landaus enjoyed this event and have friends who work with NVFS. In the past, the Landaus purchased gifts for children with special needs. Attended by several hundred supporters, the McLean event raised over $625,000. It is hoped this funding will enable NVFS to do even more for residents of Fairfax and Loudoun County in need. Seeing NVFS help the needy find a better job, better early education, a better home and a better life makes all the donations worthwhile.
